How to be succesfull at irrigation

How to be successful at irrigation? Some people who install irrigation systems choose to fully automate their irrigation, but this can be quite complex and expensive. At TGS we like to keep things simple and robust and a  simple moisture meter can do the trick as well.  On the picture you can see such a simple moisture meter. And even people who are not very much into irrigation systems can read the results: as long as the pointer is pointing towards the green area, the soil is well irrigated. On this picture you see soil close to saturation with the good rains we’ve received lately. This picture was taken at the walnut orchard in Bennekom (NL) where we recently installed an irrigation system.
